Who is the captain of your boat? Sometimes we try to do everything ourselves. This is more difficult than if we do it with Christ.
When we commit our lives to Christ, we can feel so much freedom. To people who don't understand, this can be seem impossible. But after committing to Christ, it changes. Some people think that they will have to give up so many enjoyable activities-maybe so, but after committing to Christ, these things will come naturally. Don't think one has to change overnight. It can be so hard to navigate through this world. We really do need guidance and the one who can provide that guidance is the Holy Spirit. As Christians, we are supposed to be encouraging to one another, but sadly most of are only concerned with themselves. Churches will often send mixed messages and so it gets very confusing. On one hand they say come to church, grow from each other, and if people don't get that growth or feel like they are welcomed, they are accused of coming to church for connection with others and not the sermon itself. The churches that understand this are the real successful ones.
